VISION 2018: A Business Matchmaking Event in Machine Vision

VISION 2018, a three-day business matchmaking event being held from 6th to 8th November 2018 at the Messe Stuttgart in Stuttgart, Germany, is a premier machine vision trade platform enabling component manufacturers to meet and do business with system suppliers and integrators. More than 450 pioneer exhibitors from 28 countries will have the chance to find their potential business partners.

The adoption of industry 4.0 has given rise to an enormous growth in the number of businesses investing in and expanding the machine vision industry. In 2017, this sector’s market value stood at $7.91 billion, which is prognosticated to reach $12.29 billion by 2023, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7.61% between 2017 and 2023. The increasing demand for machine vision, especially in the semiconductor and electronic manufacturing sector as well as the automotive industry, makes the machine vision market a highly lucrative one to invest in. That’s why the European Commission-funded matchmaking initiative “Business Beyond Borders” (BBB) will allocate its latest Business to Business (B2B), Cluster to Cluster (C2C) and Business to Cluster (B2C) matchmaking event to VISION 2018 (Stuttgart, Germany, Nov. 6-8) in collaboration with a consortium led by EUROCHAMBRES, the Association of European Chambers of Industry and Commerce; LOW, a Strategic Communication Consultancy; EMECA, the European Major Exhibition Centers Association; and UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

BBB aims to foster the cooperation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at the international level, which in turn, opens the way to economic growth both within and outside Europe. "VISION is one of 10 trade fairs in strategically relevant future-oriented sectors in Europe and worldwide at which the BBB program supports participating SMEs in developing their international business. Owing to the high degree of internationalization of trade fairs in Europe, they provide an effective diving springboard, especially for SMEs" explains Barbara Weizsäcker, General Secretary of EMECA and the European Exhibition Industry Alliance.

More than 6000 business interactions have hitherto been established between the EU and non-EU companies thanks to the previous events organized by BBB, in Chile, France, Italy, South Africa, Spain, Australia, India, and Iran, in which over 2300 participants from over 1900 companies gathered together. At VISION 2018, this upcoming international trade fair for machine vision which lays the groundwork for potential business partnerships and international cooperation between the exhibitors and visitors according to their profiles and requirements, more than 450 pioneer exhibitors from 28 countries will get the chance to find their potential business partners among thousands of manufacturers, engineers, and researchers. "It is our aim to involve both European and non-European companies in the matchmaking program, and to facilitate hundreds of meetings on-site,"i says Sara Lanzilotta, team leader for Business Beyond Borders at EUROCHAMBRES.
